The Cross is the most important symbol in Pentecostalism. It signifies the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Crucifixion was a form of execution in the ancient world. They would bind together feet and nail them to the bottom of the cross. Then they would nail the hands to either side of the cross, break the legs so that the person being crucified couldn't use them to push up to get air into their lungs. It was a painful slow death by asphyxiation. Sometimes families would come to visit the crucifixion as they died. Jesus was executed in Jerusalem as a social rebel. Little did the Romans know he would one day be one of the most important people of all time.

In Pentecostalism a Dove is a symbol of The Holy Spirit, bringing peace with it. The dove is a symbol of God and appears in the Bible multiple times, bearing a message of peace.
